Positive Change for the future of Little Rock
Meet Jordan Thomas
Jordan grew up in a small town in Northeast Georgia not far from Athens where he attended the University of Georgia. He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Business. He immediately packed his bags for the Mississippi Delta to start a job with a large grain company. He worked as a river grain terminal manager for two Mississippi River facilities and lived in a small farming community in Northeast Louisiana. This company had ties to Little Rock which began exposing him to the city in 2012.
In 2016 he moved to Little Rock to pursue a career in Agricultural marketing and risk management where he became the Vice President of a firm in Maumelle. It was here he developed relationships with people throughout the city and the state. In January of 2023, Jordan began a new job as a soybean meal broker in North Little Rock.
Jordan may not be from Little Rock but this is his home. His wife, Andrea, is from El Dorado and still has family there. She is a neonatal nurse at UAMS and a graduate of UAMS. Their son, Luke Henry, is 4 years old and is the light of their life. He is set to be a big brother in 2024. Jordan is a strong advocate of family and community values. He is a member of the Little Rock Men’s Hat Club.
While he is a newcomer to city leadership there are some politics in Jordan’s background. His paternal grandmother, Fran Thomas, was the first female county commissioner in Jackson County Georgia. Throughout his career he’s been able to interact with groups of varying backgrounds, status, and experience. He wants to use this opportunity on the City Board to ensure Little Rock is headed in the right direction for all its citizens.
